India T20 World Cup Selections, any recommendations?
May 3rd, 2009 by kapoorIPL2 in on and it was supposed to have provided the Indian selectors with some options beyond the obvious for picking the squad for the forthcoming T20 World Cup in England. However, till now there aren’t many new names that have made a case for themselves. In fact, some the players who had impressed in IPL1 have been found wanting in the second edition. Players like Gony and Dhawan haven’t lived up to the expectations and it is difficult to think of any new names that might come up in the near future.
Even Ravinder Jadeja who was looked upon as a surety for the T20 squad has not batted with conviction so far. Only Yousuf Pathan is living to his reputation, but then his selection was never under any question. Among the bowlers, there still isn’t a single break-away, pacy sort of a fast bowler who could do a Malinga kind of job — keep firing in yorkers during the death overs. It would be hard to swallow if Rohit Sharma is picked again. I guess Badrinath and RP Singh are the only two players who have made a case for a comeback to the team.

Ever wondered who will win the IPL this year? Predict the results your self with the right data at your disposal. Compare teams and Players using graphs and other data. In order to do so, the Castrol Index calculates the average level of performance in non-core skills for any batsman or bowler and each player receives a Bonus or Penalty to his Castrol Index for performing above or below this number.
This is the most indept analysis ive come across on any site. Check out www.castrolcricket.com

Do u really think that mathematical calculations can help predict winners in a tournament as uncertain as the T20 championships? i seriously doubt that, but then using mathemtical tools and logical reasoning was never by forte

sorry i meant, ‘my’ forte and then wouldn’t this compromise the human factor that is essential to enjoy the game, as it is things are becoming too calculative when u watch the game on t.v.

I think RP Singh has really played very well in this IPL tournament. He made his presence felt in the team which he is a part of that is Deccan Chargers. Till the last match, he is the highest wicket taken in the tournament. It would not have got better for him as he is now also picked for the t20 world cup.
With the Pepsi First Ball ka Captain contest, I think even I stand a chance to atleast make it it one live match in England.
YOu can check the Pepsi Youngistaan website here for more details, Pepsi First Ball ka Captain Official Website
