This is why I worship Sachin Tendulkar!!
January 31st, 2007 by prashantHere are top 10 reasons why I worship Sachin
1. He was the player (outside of Kapil to some extent) who changed the way people around the world looked at Indian Cricket. He brought a great sense of aggression to it.
2. He can score hundreds like no one has ever done before.
3. He can not only bat but also bowl and make breakthroughs.
4. Have terrorized some bowlers from other nations.
5. Can make you like Pepsi even if you are really a Coca Cola lover.
6. Even the great Bradmon said that Sachin reminded him of his batting days. No other Australian or any other player generated that feeling.
7. He has been playing for almost 17 years now, but still has the enthusiasm of a newcomer.
8. He is a treat to watch. When he is at the crease you always have this feeling that something special can happen almost anytime. Be that a pull for a six or an upper-cut six or an elegant straight push to the boundary.
9. He can sway a nation of a billion people without uttering a word.
10. And last but not the least, he always looks very proud that he is playing for India.
I know there are million other reasons for worshiping Sachin the master blaster, but I thought I had to start somewhere. Feel free to add…..

This is a great blog..after so many blogs on the dissections that we did to his recent lean batting patch
To add…
12. Me a great fan of his Mental Strength
For opposition he has a mental strength that no one could match. He created his own language to respond to Aussies sledging..or to respond to aggressive bowling
Imran Khan once described his experience..Sachin’s 2nd test, Faislabad, Waqar, Wasim and Imran bowling at him at age 16..Imran bowled a fierceful bouncer..next ball Sachin replied with a four and another four in the same over and went on to make his 1st fifty.
Cricket world knew then God with bat has arrived.
Glenn McGrath’s bouncer followed with a deadly stare..Sachin kept looking straight in his eyes and replied with 3 consecutive fours…thats the language I am talking about.
Hope he continues same way at least till 2011.

12. His running between the wickets can make youngsters feel ashamed
13. He can play well at any position in the team
14. If He is out of form, He applies Himself and tries to get back in form. The 241 He scored in Sydney is a proof of that fact. He was getting out caught behind trying to play the cover drive. So He did not play one shot on the off side in His either 241…. and actually mastered another stroke… the on drive to a ball outside off stump by rolling His wrists… The third four of the three consecutive fours that He hit in the 4th match against WI. It just increased His options ….

15. Batting for Mumbai in the Ranji final wearing his Mumbai shirt Sachin was playing with the same amount of seriousness as any other player. He is such a no-nonsense player. Definitely worthy of worshipping.

16. He loves his cricket inspite of the money he makes on it. He has’nt let fame get to his head. His humble nature and ability to introspect (i suppose) is his biggest strength.

17. I have never heard Sachin saying anything controversial or something that could be detrimental to the team. I don’t remember seeing any negative reaction from even after Dravid declared India’s innings in Pakistan when Sachin was unbeaten on 196. I think he has immense respect for the game and the rules that govern it.

18. Even having been hit with what at least to me was a semi-intentional beamer from Bret Lee, his reaction was in the absolute best spirit and interest of the game and not the one that would generate controversies. Most people in his position would have had a much more severe reaction, no question about that.
