Any uniform favourites in IPL2??

May 13th, 2009 by kapoor

This is something that I do out of habit and I cannot help but notice and I mean, observe a lot, the kind of outfits cricketers wear in their ODI and T20 outings. So I have been doing this in the current edition of IPL too and I must say that the outfit worn by the Delhi Daredevils team looks pretty good, perhaps the best. It is some sort of formal and sporty look blended together and although it does remind you of the ODI outfits used by the England team, it does look very smart. According to me, the worst has to be the one used by the Deccan Chargers in the last edition of IPL, i.e. IPL1, that strange brown coloured uniforms were absolutely horrible. A perpetual contrasting and not so smart looking is the one used by the Chennai Super Kings who seem obsessed with yellowing everything, from the headgear to the gloves and even the grips on their bats. I am looking forward to what the Indian team wears in the T20 World Cup — last season’s outfit was just a bit too drab for my liking.

My favourite outfit was that of the Mumbai Indians in IPL 2008. And that has nothing to do with the fact that I am a MI fan. Unfortunately, they changed the colour of their outfit this year, and it is no longer my favourite.

This year I dont have a favourite outfit. The closest that comes is probably that of the Rajasthan Royals. Decent blue. This year, Kolkata’s outfit is the worst, I think.

The Indian team will probably wear the new ODI outfit that Nike released sometime back. The one they wore in New Zealand.
