India Pakistan ODI Series Starts In Less Than 5 days!!

October 31st, 2007 by prashant

What I am most interested in is the constitution of India’s playing 11. Here is my guess (true guess)

Sachin
Ganguly
Gambhir
Sehwag
Yuvraj
Uthappa
Dhoni
Pathan
Zaheer
SreeSanth
Bhajji

What do you all think?

absolutely right choice with probable change murli kartik in place of Bhajji and r.p.singh for sreesanth

  2. shivraj Says:

Do you think there is a possibility of Gambhir opening the innings and Ganguly coming 1 down? I mean, since Gambhir has been so successful in T20, he can carry that aggressiveness into the ODIs, and Ganguly can play the role Dravid used to play before, since he is not scoring his runs at a quick pace anyways.

The other point is that it makes no sense to bring Sehwag 2 down. Yuvraj has to bat up the order. The problem we are facing is that we again have too many openers in the team…Sehwag, Sachin, Ganguly, Gambhir, Uthappa..all of them have opened the innings. Frankly speaking, I don’t see a place for Sehwag in the team(at least in the playing 11); might as well have someone like Rohit Sharma or Suresh Raina (of course, Raina has to be in the squad first).

I agree with ashokphatak when it comes to rotating the bowlers. Piyush Chawla is also an option, when he recovers from his injury.

RP is in instead of Sreesanth and Murali Karthik in place of Sehwag.
