Two Heart-Breaking Losses Followed By Two Heart-Warming Wins??

May 25th, 2008 by prashant

This is exactly what every Mumbai Indians fan (including yours truly) is hoping for. Mumbai could have clinched the Semi-Final spot by beating Delhi the other day or would have just needed one more win from now on if they had managed two more runs against Punjab.

They did neither, so the team finds itself on the brink of elimination. One good thing in this challenging situation is the fact that Mumbai’s destiny is in their own hands. If they win both their remaining matches they are through, regardless of what happens in the other matches.

Chennai needs to win their last encounter to guarantee their position. A loss their could create a very interesting situation.

Anyways, Mumbai Indians take on tomorrow Rajasthan Royals, the best team in IPL and if they win this match, it will setup a thrilling finale for the IPL round one.

Go Indians!!!

Well Mumbai have no one else to blame for the two loses but themselves. In the first match, they had a total of 5 run-outs, out of which 3 were in the last over. VRV Singh tried his best to bowl a terrible last over, but the Mumbai batsmen did not take enough advantage. Even then, one such loss can be accepted because the three run-outs in the final over can be attributed to pressure situation.

But the fielding in the match against delhi was absolutely terrible. The bowling was also quite ordinary. So many misfields, dropped catches while defending a not so high score of 170 odd? It was a terrible sight.

It would be a really big surprise if the Mumbai Indians make it to the semis now. As a fan, I am extremely disappointed by their display in the Delhi match.

Dilhara Fernando has done him again!!!!! The last time around he cleaned up Sachin ( in the crunch game at the World Cup) and now he has bowled the ‘final’ over for Mumbai Indians!!!!

Actually Two Heart-breaking losses were followed by a third one (even worse)……
