CricDigs DiscussionsDiscussions from Tuesday, June 17th, 2008jatanr(07:06 AM): Prashant, there is no point in arguing about this. In India, if there is someone successful, there are bound to be a higher number of detractors than followers. jatanr(07:09 AM): The loss in the final is not a one off instance. It just shows how brittle India\'s batting can be when exposed to pressure. In the first two games, there was no pressure and India got off to a good start in batting. Come the pressure of chasing a big total and none of the \'young guns\' fired. jatanr(07:11 AM): i like the current team. It is the team of the future and deserves some time to get settled before we start castigating their performances. jatanr(07:15 AM): but the flaws cannot be dismissed as one-off incidents. Batting has always been the reason India has lost most of the time. And it was no different in the final. There has to be someone who should be able to play an anchor role and keep the ship afloat. its ODI for gods sake and not T20. I miss Dravid... and unless someone like Rohit doesnt take up that role, the team will continue to flatter only to deceive in the end. jatanr(07:15 AM): Im glad. For once, we have a really good captain who can really make a difference I think jatanr(07:17 AM): And such defeats in such insignificant tournament finals are good... the kids should learn it the hard way also!
